Sea World

So last friday we went and met up with the girls and did a day at Sea World.  It was a lot of fun, for the most part.  I lost 10 years of my life this time.  When we met up with Photina, her girls Ivy and Lillie, Jessie and a few other gals Kaden decided to take off and disappear on me at the kids play area.  Thankfully Jessie found him.  Sadly we lost his shoes and I had to buy him new ones.  I have never been so scared in my life, until the next day (he almost got hit by a SUV).
Of course going to Sea World means going to see Shamu.  Kaden loves seeing this show and its a must for us.  This time we saw it twice.
Kaden totally captivated by the show.
Another must see for us, the sharks.  We always have to go to the Shark Encounter and this time it was both Lillie and Kaden requesting for us to go.
Second time at the Shamu show.
Another fun day with great company and loads of fun for the kids.  Yes, family I have been getting the kids and I out of the house this time while Jay is gone.  We've done a birthday party for Ivy, Photina's baby shower, several potlucks and even a bbq here at our place.  We have been having so much fun getting together with the other wives and it has been a good thing for all of us just simply to get out of the house.

Wild Animial Park

One of the fun things to do out here in San Diego is go to the Wild Animal Park.  The last time I personally had been was over 15 years ago and it was smack in the middle of fire season and the park had been hit hard by it.  So last week we got together with some of our new friends from my ASA support site and went.  We all had a blast.  Sadly my camera takes crappy photos so the few I'm posting are the good ones.  One of the other wives, Photina will be getting me copies of the ones she took with her much better camera than mine.
The day was a blast.  We met up with the other gals and kids and off we went for a day of fun in the park.
Our group
Annabelle was a very happy girl this day.
In the back there is a lion sleeping.
Kaden's new friends: Lillie, Josh and Kassie
This was such a cute thing that the kids were doing.  They would hold hands throughout the park and we moms had such an easy time keeping an eye on them.
One of me and Annabelle as we were going on the tour.
The kids and I had a blast.  And it has been so wonderful to get out and be around other moms and having fun.

Check it out!

Have you ever wondered what life is like on the USS Nimitz?  Well the following link is from some bloggers that have just returned from being on the ship.  The ship is still out, but these guests were given quite the tour of the ship.  Check out their stuff, its pretty cool, even for me who's taken many tours of the ship.

Autisim testing

Today we had to have Annabelle tested for autisim.  It is something that is done when you already have a child that has been diagnosed with autisim.  Her results were very good.  She has no signs of autisim or any other problems.  She does have a speech delay, but as our autisim dr, Dr White, told us that is actually quite common in families with one child that already has autisim.  They believe the delay is genetic and right now there is no need for concern as she is right where she should be in all other areas.  There was one slight concern with her left eye.  She goes crosseyed in that one a little more than they usually see in kids her age so we will have to get her eyes checked and see if she will need glasses or surgery to correct the problem.  However the best thing of all happened at this appointment.
Dr White decided to do a evaluation of Kaden since it has been one year (as of tomorrow) since he was diagnosed.   He then got very upset to hear nothing has happened since then because the insurance cut us off of speech after 3 months (very big no, no according to Dr White) and that the Regional Center where Kaden was supposed to be getting ABA therapy is still jerking us around and not doing what needs to be done.  Apparently them doing such things is very common, but not to worry for us.  Dr White is fighting on our behalf to get them to give us the services he needs.  He is also helping us get other services for Kaden through the navy's ECHO program and the EFMP as well.  This is a huge weight off of my shoulders.  This has been a struggle of knowing what to do for so long now that to have someone willing to help us out is a tremendous blessing. All we have to do is fill out some more paperwork (yup thats the navy for you) and turn it in and make a few phone calls.  Dr White will be doing the rest.  I just pray that things will work out for us so that things fall into place so Kaden will get the help he needs.
