Cheers to visiting teachers

I have awsome visiting teachers for the first time ever!  I just met my other visiting teacher, her compainion's kids were sick, today and we ended up spending 4 hours talking.  Jay actually got concerned when I didn't call him asking where he was after noon came and went.  I have amazing visiting teachers and they are the type that I had always wished to have in past wards.  They really care and want to get to know me.  I feel like I came away from that visit with a new friend in the ward.  This has been a need for me for a really long time and I couldn't be more greatful.

Is this for real???

I had to go into the dr yesterday for a physical and while I was there I talked with the dr about some issue that I have been dealing with about pain.  I got a stronger perscription of motrin to use when the pain gets to be too much for me and on the way home I read the warning lable for fun.  (got to love how much information the military gives you on just one perscription)

"Motrin side effects: upset stomach, nausia, vomiting, heartburn, headache, diarrhea, constipation, drowsiness (or in my case sleep is what comes in 20 min), and dizziness may occur.  Notify dr if these effects persist.
Tell your doctor immedately if any of these serious side effects occur: vision changes, rapid or pounding heartbeat, easy bruising or bleeding, difficult/painful swallowing.
Tell your dr immedately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: change in amount of urine, severe headache, very stiff neck, mental or mood changes, persistent sore throat or fever.
This drug may rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease.  If you notice any of the following highly unlikely but very serious side effects stop taking and notify dr immedately: yellowing eyes and skin, unusual/extreme tiredness."

Last time I checked some of those side effects were the very reason to take such a medication.  So my question is this, are the meds we take really helping us or hurting us more?  I hate taking pain killers and only take them when I have no other options so having this stronger version of a standard over the counter is very unusual for me, but was sadly a need due to not knowing exactly why I have been feeling the way I do.  Hopefully the blood test they took (evil vampires had to poke 3 times just for one vile of blood and now both arms are bruised) will give us some answers.  In the mean time I get to take this when the pain gets too bad and hope that none of the side effects, beyond the drowsiness one (that will happen and cause me to go as Jay affectionately calls it comatose) actually happen.  I think I'm going to start reading medicine lables more often just to see if they side effects are worse than what the meds are for.

5 years have come and gone

On Saturday Jay and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. We didn't do much since we don't have much in the way of money to spend. We did however watch "Eagle Eye" (one of our new favorite movies) and do our anniversarry dinner of Chilies take out. Every year we have done take out of Chilies or Olive Garden for our anniversarry. We put the kids to bed and then have our dinner while watching the movie of the night. The last five years have been wonderful. We have had our struggles, but only gotten closer from those experiences. I am so greatful that he loves me inspite of all that I have been through in my own life and how he has been there for me as I've worked so hard to over come my past. I am beyond greatful for all of his hard work in his job and for the hard work he has been doing at going back to school to finish his degree. He is a great dad and wonderful husband.
This was taken back in Oct. as part of our family photos. It is now one of our favorite shots of the two of us.

Where is the time?

Where has the time gone?  Yesterday Kaden went into Sunbeams at church.  I can't believe he is now in primary.  He looked so lost when we took him there instead of nursery.  He loved his nursery class a lot and so this is a big change for him.  I can't believe he is old enough to be a primary kid.  Now I just have 4 months until Annabelle enters the nursery and I get 2 hours of freedom from them!  Actually that is what it feels like when Jay is out at sea and I get a small break just by going to church.  My kids are growing up on me.
