Finally after waiting almost 5 months the USS Nimitz has returned home! It was a sight to see the ship slowly pull into port and watch the ropes get fired off to secure it to the pier. We went out to watch the ship come in and see the Sailors standing along the top of the ship in their dress whites as they pulled in. It was so amazing to see all of this for the first time. It makes deployments well worth everything just to see them pull in and know in just a little bit longer we were going to be reuinted with Jay.
Here comes the Nimitz. It was a slow moving process since it was all tug power.
Still moving forward.
To pull the Nimitz into port they have to go past the port and then be pulled in to port in reverse.
The Sailors coming off the ship to greet all of us who were waiting for our loved ones.
